In frame of the LIFE project and in co-operation with the Ministry of culture, Lonjsko Polje Nature Park Public Service organized training of ranger staff. The aim of this education was to improve the knowledge and skills of ranger staff of Croatia's Protected areas on basic ecology, communication, interpretation and monitoring. Training was foreseen for participation of at least 30 rangers. The rangers who have registered for expert exam had the advantage to participate on training course. The Ministry of Culture sent to all Croatian national and nature parks and public services for protected areas management the invitations and application forms. 34 participants finished first part of training and the field work has been elaborated with 31 participants (List of participants). Training has been organized in two part: I part Time frame of the first training part was on September 13th – 16th 2008 in Krapje. The participants have got the basic knowledge and skills on nature protection and interpretation, and also they have been involved in basic laws on nature protection that are important for preparation of rangers ' expert exam. Basic ecology, communication, interpretation and ecosystem and habitats have been presented by the LPNPPS stuff, but the legislative framework has been prepared and presented by the representatives of the Ministry of Culture. Monitoring II part The second part of the training was field work named „Practical work of lessons learned“. Field work was organized in parks of participants. They were divided in four groups according to the geographical belonging. Timeframe of field work: October 13th -16th, 2008
