In the frame of the evaluation of the Management Plan of Lonjsko Polje Nature Park and Program for Central Posavina, a Meeting of the Freshwater Working group of LPNP Stakeholders Committee has been held (List of participants).
The main objective of this meeting was to agree the main processes that will improve the flood defense system according to the environmental measures. In that frame Mrs.Vesna Tusić from Croatian Waters Public Enterprise presented to all participants the basic proposition of the flood defense system and proposed modification of the flood defense system that respects restoration of river corridors, rehabilitation of oxbows (connection with the main river) and denaturalization of the natural floodplains.
These propositions will be part of the actions plans in management plan of LPNP and guidelines for protection measures in Central Posavina Program.
